Lecture Details: |
In the second aliyah of Parshas Ki Savo, the various tithes are discussed. After a person has taken care of his responsibilities, he makes a proclamation, declaring that he has done everything as he has been commanded. He then asks Hashem to bless Bnei Yisroel-keeping His end of the deal, as he has kept his with the tithes. This strong confidence in tefilah can only come about through our sense of community and caring for one another. On Rosh Hashana, we daven as a community, and give to those who do not have, showing Hashem that we are one unit, and as such, deserve a good judgment. |
